Manny Pacquiao is once again using his pull as one of the sport’s most lucrative fighters to enhance his status in its history – even at the risk of backfiring on him.
Now, the remorseless and blatant cheat who would have willingly gone out and bludgeoned Shane Mosley with loaded hand wraps, is in line for a major payday, major exposure and a major title.
Negotiations between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr may or may not have occured. In any event, Manny Pacquiao will be fighting on November 13, Mayweather or not. And it seems that Manny has found an opponent for that date. According to Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports, Manny Pacquiao will face Antonio Margarito on November [...]
For its long-term future, boxing needs Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather to face the likes of Andre Berto, Paul Williams and Timothy Bradley more than it needs them to fight each other.

Loose lips sink ships. Suddenly, the quiet Filipino star, who has let trainer Freddie Roach assume the burden of being the flapping gums behind the Pacquiao phenomenon, can’t seem to shut up. Every week, we see several direct quotes from Pacquiao, all disparaging Mayweather and the possibility of an upcoming mega-fight. It’s not Roach anymore. [...]
Quick, somebody inform Bob Arum and Team Pacquiao that they’ve dialed the wrong number and are not in negotiations with Team Mayweather after all. They’ve obviously reached an impostor who has somehow conned them into thinking that they are dealing with Floyd’s representatives. I mean, what else could be the answer? Bob Arum has been [...]
I don’t know of any real fight fans who actually like boxing’s four major sanctioning bodies (WBO, WBC, WBA, IBF). As a matter of fact, hardcore fans are unanimous in their disgust for these “Alphabet Soup” Organizations. The laundry list of offenses is too long to detail in one short article, but with only their [...]

He may have nothing left to prove, but Floyd Mayweather Jr. still has one more fight left.
This past Saturday night, Floyd Mayweather Jr. got to once again prove why he is as good as he says he is. Mayweather’s unanimous decision win over Shane Mosley in Las Vegas was as easy as any of Mayweather’s recent fights. Mosley had a few brief moments early on, but nothing for an extended period of time. And once Mayweather got going, he stayed going.

This fight almost happened earlier this year and I still believe it will happen in 2010. I’ll even specify a date: December 4th.
Mayweather operates on two speeds: “Better than the rest” and “All-time Great.” He’d been cruising on the first speed for a number of years, but getting caught and hurt by Mosley forced him to shift into second…and Mosley simply couldn’t keep up.
