Staff Biographies

Shawn M. Smith (Editor-in-chief) – A fan of mixed martial arts since Royce Gracie still rocked a gi, SMS is one of the founding members of the Inside Pulse and serves at the Chief Marketing Officer on the Executive Board. Having covered music festivals around the world as well as interviews with top-class professional wrestlers and musicians, he switched gears from coverage of music at Radio Exile to MMA after the first The Ultimate Fighter Finale. He resides with his wife in New York City.

Trent Pusey (Boxing Editor) - Trent has been covering boxing and MMA for Inside Pulse since 2006. He has been a lifelong fan of boxing and credits Marvin Hagler for initially sparking his interest in the sport. Trent regularly sees his work published through our affiliate arrangement with FOX Sports in addition to here at Inside Fights. You can hear Trent every Wednesday night as the host of the 13th Round on the Sports Action Network.

Corey Willinger born in the hometown of the great Muhammad Ali, Corey has been a fan of the sweet science since the mid 90s and covered boxing for Inside Fights since 2007. His all-time favorite fighter is Diego Corrales, who embodied the knockdown, dragout aspect of the sport in a form rarely seen. Corey is a graduate of the University of Louisville and faithfully supports his Louisville Cardinals.

Paul Magno is a licensed boxing official, promoter and trainer in Mexico as well as a lifelong fight fan. He’s been covering boxing for Inside Fights since 2009 and has been writing full-time since 2007.

Will Cooling has been writing for the Inside Pulse since 2004. He writes for Inside Fights about mixed martial arts and boxing, with his work also appearing on FoxSports.com and Scrapp The Fight Magazine. He also makes monthly appearances on the The 13th Round radio show to talk the latest news from the British boxing scene. He currently lives in Birmingham, England.

He is the co-host of The Takedown, a MMA-centric show on 1560 The Game in Houston. Jeremy is a graduate of The University of Texas in Austin and resides in Houston. He now covers MMA for Heavy.com.

Kevin Wong (staff writer) — Kevin has been covering Reality TV since 2005 and got back into Mixed Martial Arts through The Ultimate Fighter. In addition to Inside Fights, he contributes to Reality Dish and Prime Time Pulse. Kevin is a graduate of the University of Toronto and currently resides in Toronto, Canada.
