Mark Hunt receives Visa, fight with Junior Dos Santos at UFC 160 remains on
by Ryan Frederick on May 20, 2013

Mark Hunt will be fighting on Saturday’s UFC 160 card after receiving his visa on Sunday after a whirlwind process. Hunt posted the news on his Twitter page on Sunday.

Hunt (9-7, 4-1 UFC) will be taking on Junior Dos Santos (15-2, 9-1 UFC) in the night’s co-main event in a likely title eliminator. The winner could challenge the winner of the night’s main event UFC Heavyweight Championship bout between champion Cain Velasquez and challenger Antonio Silva.

UFC officials were confident that Hunt would receive his visa by the weekend, and while it may have been a little bit later than anticipated, Hunt has had his way cleared to make the fight and will be arriving in Las Vegas from Australia in a matter of days for the week’s festivities.

Roy Nelson was on standby in the event Hunt did not receive his visa, and despite Nelson getting his license to fight in Nevada on Friday, no official confirmation was made that he would step in if Hunt was not cleared. However, UFC officials will no longer have to worry about that as Hunt has put this “simple misunderstanding” behind him.

UFC 160 takes place on Saturday, May 25 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card airs on pay-per-view and will be preceded by preliminary card bouts on FX and Facebook.
