Anthony Pettis Drops to 145 Pounds to Face Champ Jose Aldo
by Shawn M. Smith on February 5, 2013

After a simple text message, Anthony Pettis has finally lined up a UFC title shot. Instead of UFC Lightweight champ Benson Henderson (whom Pettis owns a victory over), Pettis asked for a shot at UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo.

Aldo is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Frankie Edgar at UFC 156. Pettis defeated Donald Cerrone with a devastating liver kick at UFC on FOX 6. The bout will take place on August 6th at a venue that has yet to be named. Currently, Chicago, Las Vegas Rio de Janeiro and Texas are considered possible sites for the event.
