UFC on Fox 5 Undercard Fights to Watch
by Scott "Kubryk" Sawitz on December 6, 2012

Trying to find a reason to watch the UFC on Fox undercard on FX directly before the main card on Fox?  There’s a handful of fights with very good reasons to watch on FX directly before.

Raphael Assunção vs. Mike Easton – Easton’s in the mix at bantamweight for a title shot, perhaps against Renan Barao in the near future, but he hasn’t had that signature win in the UFC that says “I need to pay attention to this guy.”  Easton apparently has big time power but he hasn’t quite shown it yet in the UFC; a win here, especially one in spectacular fashion, and he has a chance to get a title shot instead of Michael MacDonald.

Denis Siver vs. Nam Phan - Nam Phan’s on an interesting streak and he’s slowly getting better every time he fights.  His ceiling is starting to come into focus as a fighter but he’s never dull.  Siver was on the cusp of being an elite level lightweight until a big loss to Donald Cerrone.  Dropping to 145 he seemed to be closer to a title shot than others because of his pedigree a weight class above but so far … he’s shown to be in the same spot at featherweight.  Can he be an elite featherweight?  He has to win, and win big, for his ceiling at 145 to really come into focus.
