by Shawn M. Smith on November 27, 2012

Rasul Mirzaev, former Bellator recruit, has been convicted of manslaughter in his native Russia. The incident in question stemmed from a street fight in August 2011. Mirzaev has been in jail since that altercation.

Mirzaev and his girlfriend were leaving Moscow club Garage when 19-year-old Ivan Agafonov insulted Mirzaev’s companion. Mirzaev allegedly punched Agafonov one time in the face, causing him to fall to the floor where he hit his head on a metal drain cover. He was pronounced dead four days later.
