Manny Pacquiao, the WBO Welterweight Champion, will be meeting New York Knicks star Jeremy Lin at Madison Square Garden this week. While no specific information about the meeting was made public, the announcement was made by Top Rank and takes place ahead of Pacquiao’s promotion for this summer’s Tim Bradley fight.

Lin, an Asian-American of Taiwanese descent, has earned worldwide acclaim due to his recent emergence as point guard for the NBA’s Knicks. The team has gone 8-1 since he took over the starting job. Both athletes have drawn negative remarks from Floyd Mayweather Jr., who stated that Lin’s popularity has been predicated solely on his race, a comment that was met with obvious disdain by many sports fans.

Pacquiao and Mayweather have been feuding for some time now, unable to agree to terms for what would be a super-fight.
