Vicious Knockout: Adam Haliev KOs Alexei Belyaev With Tornado Kick
by Jon Kirschner on December 26, 2011

The referee’s poor awareness of letting an unconscious fighter’s head bounce off the mat a second time is almost as vicious as the knockout itself.

As we are nearing the end of 2011, the staff at Inside Fights are arguing for hours on end about who the award for Knockout of the Year should go to. Now, we have to throw another name into the mix.

Adam Haliev is an undefeated mixed martial artist and a world Kudo champion from Russia who comes to bang every fight. At League-Sambo 70, Haliev defeated Alexei Belyaev with a Tae Kwon Do move that is rarely seen in mainstream MMA: the Tornado Kick. Haliev sets the devastating maneuver up perfectly and executes the knockout with devastating impact.

It was a walk-off knockout, but Haliev did not gloat. In a classy move, as soon as his corner picked him up he demanded to be put down so he could check on his opponent.

Event: League-Sambo 70
Date: December 22, 2011
Location: Volgograd, Russia
Result: Adam Haliev beats Alexei Belyaev via. KO (Tornado Kick)
