Jon Olav Einemo Strikes Deal with UFC
by Shawn M. Smith on March 8, 2011

2 time Abu Dhabi Combat Club division champ Jon Olav Einemo signed today with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, according to a release from Golden Glory, his fight team.

The big Norwegian has not competed professionally since November 2006 due to a serious leg infection. He was victorious in his last bout, a submission victory (via armbar) over James Thompson at “Too Hot To Handle: Pride and Honor.”

Einemo was the first man to defeat ADCC absolute champion, Roger Gracie so you know he has the high-level grappling chops. In MMA, five of Einemo’s six professional wins were first round submissions.
