Carl Froch contemplating retirement, Jean Pascal issues challenge
by Will Cooling on August 15, 2010

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Carl Froch has once again spoken about retiring should he be eliminated from the Super Six, telling their correspondent Gareth T. Davies that “If I cannot be a winner I don’t want to be in the sport hanging around”. While coming closer to accepting the legitimacy of his loss to Mikkel Kessler, the former WBC Super-Middleweight Champion is still blaming his travel arrangements being disrupted by the Icelandic volcano for “everything [being] at the last minute. It took my sharpness away”.

Previously Froch has talked about his post Super Six career being at light heavyweight, and coincidentally Jean Pascal has challenged the Nottingham native fresh off unifying the WBC, IBO and Ring world titles. The Daily Telegraph quotes the Canadian, who lost to Froch at 168Ibs in what many consider the Fight of 2008, saying “I’d defend this title against Carl Froch, but it would have to be in Canada”.
