Jean Pascal got out to an early lead against Chad Dawson and never looked back, unifying the WBC and IBO light heavyweight titles in Montreal by technical decision. The fight was stopped in the 11th when Dawson was cut by an accidental headbutt. The scores were 108-101, 106-103, and 106-103.

Chad Dawson (29-1, 17 KOs) started to pick up the pace late but his chances for a late knockout were thwarted by the early stoppage. The loss was Dawson’s first as a professional as Jean Pascal (26-1, 16 KOs) thrilled his hometown fans with the upset victory.
