Bradley Tops Peterson; Darchinyan KOs Rojas
By Trent Pusey - December 13, 2009 | Email the author

Tim Bradley retained his WBO light welterweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Lamont Peterson in Rancho Mirage, California. Bradley looked extremely sharp and scored a knockdown in the third round. Peterson was having fits with Bradley’s speed and was unable to get into his own rhythm as Bradley controlled the fight. Scores were 120-107, 119-108, and 118-110.

Vic Darchinyan held onto his WBC super flyweight title with a stunning second round KO of Tomas Rojas. Darchinyan froze Rojas with a left against the ropes. As Rojas was ducking down to avoid the next punch, Darchinyan connected with another left that sent Rojas crashing to the canvas. Rojas was out and could not beat the count. The official time was 2:54.
