Jake Rosholt cut by the UFC after submission loss to Kendall Grove

Jake Rosholt announced via Twitter today that he has been cut from the UFC roster after his first round submission loss to Kendall Grove at UFC 106. The message was posted at 4:30 p.m. EST.

“Not a good day. Just found out I got cut by the #UFC”

Rosholt was 1-2 during his UFC career, including a victory over Chris Leben and a loss to Dan Miller at UFC 102 and UFC: Fight Night 17, respectively. The Xtreme Couture member has an impressive wrestling background and a 6-2 professional record as a mixed martial artist. However, he is no longer a member of the UFC middleweight division.

There is no word as to Rosholt’s next move, but he should be an appealing prospect for a notable promotion in need of depth in the 185-pound division.

I agree. Just shows how competitive and powerful the UFC divisions have become.
