Bute Finishes Andrade

There was no controversy this time around. Lucian Bute successfully defended his IBF Super Middleweight title over Librado Andrade with a 4th round knockout. Bute put Andrade down with a left in the 4th round but Andrade was able to get back to his feet. Bute connected on a body shot soon thereafter that put Andrade down for good.

While the main event was free of controversy, the undercard bout between Joan Guzman and Ali Funeka was not. Guzman was in control early, only to see Funeka rally in the second half of the fight, busting up Guzman’s face in the process. The fight ended in a majority draw with scores of 114-114, 114-114, and 116-112 for Funeka. The bout was for the vacant IBF Lightweight title.
