Fedor is smart in the ring and out. The day doesn't end when a fighter leaves the ring victorious. It ends when he gets home and balances his budget against a short career. Yeah, he won a sizable purse today, but how long will it last him if he doesn’t win the next one? The smartest move Fedor made was taking an easy fight in front of a large U.S. audience. Building a fan-base in the U.S. that is more than just hardcore MMA fans obsessed with rankings will give him more leverage at the table when negotiating a fight price with Dana White. Rankings are B.S. any way. All of that goes away when they are in the ring/cage and any fight can go any way on any day. Is it really necessary to list all of the upsets in the short history of MMA to further prove that point?

I agree that Fedor is one of the most hyped fighters (both ways, negative and positive) right now but he definitely isn't as bad as you're trying to make him.

Right now, I'd say he's the only one that might stand a chance against Brock.

UFC gives him the share of the gate IF he wins - otherwise no.

Fedor part owns M-1.

Cowards hide behind money - only fanbois keep propping up his image - and that is all it is, image.

As part owner he can pick and choose his opponents to make himself look good to the uncritical eye.

Everyone else in MMA sees him for the posturing baby he is.

m to the t: Fedor cannot fight 'any top three of the ten UFC heavy weights' which 'would beat the crap out of him' NOT because he didn't want to, but because the UFC didn't agree to co-promote with M1 and M1, quite understandably, didn't want to let their best fighter go before his contract ended.

It's not that complicated, really.
