It’s a factual article. However, the writer unfortunately failed to mention, that most if not all of those championship fights between Pinoy boxers and Rican foes were mismatches in size in favor of the latter. Elorde was a junior lightweight champ fighting a lightweight champ Ortiz, Penalosa a bantamweight champ fighting JM Lopez who is a super bantam champ, and now Pacquiao a light welter champ against a welter champ in Cotto.
Well, anyway the article, as I have said was nicely written. Thanks, this is just an added information.

Although most of Pacquiao’s fans doesn’t see it that way, stats doesn’t lie.Puerto Rico got the better score, not the fight in itself but on the win column.
Flash Elorde did tried and failed,what Pacquiao was abled and will try another height,the welterweight division this time.
Penalosa a classic fight up to finish but not enough and failed.
Mayol, not really his time on a headbutt technical desicion lost.However Pacquiao vs Cotto coming fight is more than those fights.
It is about a seventh class division that Pacquiao is eyeing for ,which he the first boxer/fighter in boxing history with the opportunity to attain. .In the contrary, this article fits Cotto’s statement, that he will do his best to stop it;hence maintaining Puerto Ricos
record wins against Filipino boxers that his country’s boxers fought and succeeded.Cotto will rise up into a new level and statute among his greats country men in boxing.So, two different angle of seeing two heroes from two different countries geographical wide apart but one foreseen future ..a” NATIONAL PRIDE AND A HERO”.Although i want to be fair ,this nationalism we are writing about..Pacquiao will knock out Cotto in the sixth or seventh round and will be the first boxer to attain seven championship belt in seven different weight class division.Hear from you all soon.

Indeed, the whole boxing world will soon be thrilled to have watch this fight unveiled before us. For the Phillipines, in particular, it would have added deeper meanings. As a proud nation of 90 million people watch, crime rate across the country will plunge to level not seen since last fight of Manny with Hatton. This thought alone is spectacular and wonderful to have a nation come to a halt and watch their national treasure perform the art of boxing in ways not being done by any other boxing greats.
