Froch, Abraham Win Super Six Openers

Carl Froch defeated Andre Dirrell in the Super Six tournament in the super middleweight divison. Froch won by split decision with scores of 115-112, 115-112, and 113-114. Froch also retained his WBC super middleweight title with the victory.

In another Super Six tournament bout, Arthur Abraham defeated Jermain Taylor by KO in the 12th round. The knockout came with 6 seconds remaining in the fight. Abraham dropped Taylor with a right hand in the waning seconds and the former middleweight champion was out cold.

  1. Froch may have taken a very generous hometown decision, but Andre Dirrell arrived as a real live main event fighter who is going to be hell for most guys to handle. I really believe Dirrell won that fight, all other things considered. But that don’t matter. I look forward to an eventual rematch.
