File this one under the “not surprised in the least” header: Thales Leites has been released by the UFC.
Leites earned a title shot earlier this year against Anderson Silva, but came under fire after that fight for his strategy of laying on his back and trying to draw Silva into his guard. The result was one of the more boring fights of the year, and it ended up being the impetus for Silva facing Forrest Griffin last weekend at UFC 101.
Leites lost a decision to Allessio Sakara at UFC 101 in a fight that most observers believe he won.
