White: ESPN Piece Will Be “Hatchet Job”
by Jeremy Botter - April 23, 2009 | Email the author

Last week, Inside Fights broke the news that ESPN’s E:60 crew would be filming Dana White over the course of the UFC 97 weekend for a piece that will air on the May 12th edition of the show. We also revealed that the show would be focused on White’s now-infamous video blog that caused a gigantic controversy within the gay and lesbian communities.

In an interview with Yahoo’s Steve Cofield, White confirms the Inside Fights report:

“Dana White is this foul-mouthed, lunatic who got the company to this point (but) is he the guy who can take it to the next level? Will he be around?’ That’s going to be the tone of this thing.”

One interesting point that I wasn’t aware of: the piece was originally filmed over the UFC 94 weekend, but the camera crew was dispatched again after White’s video blog incident.

Another interesting point: the Zuffa public relations people tried to shut down the filming of the segment, and it was captured on camera.
